Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist
Job Summary: As an Accounts Payable Specialist in our food distribution company, you'll be responsible for managing the accounts payable process efficiently. Your role involves processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely payments to vendors while adhering to company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Invoice Processing: Receive, review, and process invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Vendor Management: Maintain relationships with vendors and handle inquiries regarding payments and invoices.
- Payment Processing: Prepare and execute payment runs, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire transfers.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies with vendors.
- Expense Reports: Review and process employee expense reports in accordance with company policies.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions and documentation.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
- Reporting: Prepare accounts payable reports and analysis as needed for management review.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in accounts payable functions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and finance, to streamline processes and resolve issues.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in accounts payable or accounting roles, preferably in the food distribution industry.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing invoices and payments.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Integrity: Demonstrated integrity and professionalism in handling confidential information and financial transactions.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
