Statutory and Intercompany Lead Accountant POST NUMBER: 475766
Our client, a large and rapidly growing financial services technology company, is seeking an Accounting Manager to support month-end close and intercompany accounting and reporting for its various subsidiaries, as well as managing standalone audits.
Location:
Mountain View, CA. This position follows a hybrid work schedule, 3 days/week in the office.
Job Description:
This role will focus on statutory financial statements, intercompany accounting, and compliance within a complex, highly regulated environment. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, experience navigating intercompany structures, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced organization.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including footnote disclosures, in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Manage period-end close activities for assigned legal entities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Serve as the primary accounting partner for regulated or licensed subsidiaries
- Manage intercompany accounting activities, including management service arrangements and elimination of intercompany balances
- Research and apply technical accounting guidance related to complex transactions and disclosures
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and audit support
- Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements impacting statutory entities
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities within close and reporting processes
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including statutory or entity-level reporting
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial statement disclosures
- Experience with intercompany accounting and complex legal entity structures
- Ability to operate independently and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
