Job Title: Interim M&A Finance Lead (1-Year Project)
Location: San Antonio (Onsite)
Overview:
We are seeking a highly hands-on, strategic finance professional to lead a 1-year M&A carve-out and integration project. This role will serve as the on-site finance leader, working closely with the acquired company’s accounting team and senior leadership to ensure a smooth transition and accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the on-site finance lead during the carve-out phase
- Partner directly with the acquired company’s accounting team
- Assess existing processes, controls, reporting, and team structure
- Own or oversee the monthly close process
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to the parent company
- Support M&A, TSA, and carve-out execution efforts
- Provide structured insights to leadership on risks, gaps, and opportunities
Ongoing / Post-Integration Focus:
- Serve as the trusted finance representative on the ground
- Stabilize accounting operations following integration
- Support leadership decision-making across:
- Talent and team structure
- Systems and process improvements
- Internal controls
- Future-state operating model
- Potential to transition into a longer-term or steady-state role after initial phase
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7 years of progressive accounting/finance experience
- Strong M&A, carve-out, or integration experience preferred
- Proven ability to lead in a hands-on, fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of financial reporting and close processes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- ERP system experience (SAP or similar preferred)
- Highly detail-oriented with the ability to think strategically
