Director of Enterprise Architecture
This role is a senior-level technology leader responsible for setting the direction of enterprise architecture and turning that vision into execution across a complex manufacturing organization. You’ll play a key part in connecting business priorities to technology decisions, helping modernize existing systems, and driving innovation across operations, supply chain, customer platforms, and data ecosystems.
This isn’t just strategy. You need someone who can think big picture but also roll up their sleeves and help teams actually deliver.
What you’ll own:
- Define and drive the overall architecture strategy to support transformation, efficiency, and business expansion
- Create and enforce architecture standards, best practices, and governance across teams
- Work closely with senior leadership to ensure technology spend aligns with company goals
- Lead integration efforts across major systems including ERP, MES, PLM, CRM, and adjacent platforms
- Push forward modernization initiatives such as cloud migrations, edge technologies, and connected device ecosystems
- Influence decisions across data, analytics, infrastructure, and security architecture
- Lead and develop a team of architects across enterprise and solution domains
- Stay ahead of technology trends and introduce ideas that move the business forward
- Ensure compliance with security frameworks, regulatory needs, and internal risk standards
- Serve as a trusted partner to the CIO and executive team on long-term technology planning
What success looks like:
- Strong foundation in enterprise architecture methodologies (TOGAF, Zachman, or similar)
- Experience leading transformation efforts in manufacturing, industrial, or similar environments
- Solid understanding of core enterprise systems like ERP, MES, PLM, CRM, and supply chain tools
- Background working with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid infrastructure models
- Exposure to connected manufacturing concepts like IIoT or smart factory initiatives
- Ability to turn business challenges into scalable, practical technology solutions
- Confident leader who can influence stakeholders from engineers to executives
- Comfortable navigating governance, compliance, and risk considerations

Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (advanced degree is a plus)
- 15 years in architecture or related roles, with time spent leading at a senior level
- Proven experience managing large, cross-functional initiatives

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco by Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:
- the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;
- office location and other geographic considerations;
- other business and organizational needs.
With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
