Our client, a growing hospitality company, is seeking a systems-savvy Financial Accountant to support core accounting functions and play a critical role in the implementation of a new point-of-sale (POS) system. This position is ideal for someone who brings strong general ledger experience, thrives in fast-paced environments, and is excited by process optimization and system transformation.
This is a high-visibility role with regular exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent technical skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support core accounting functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.
- Serve as a key accounting resource in the implementation of a new POS system, ensuring financial data integrity and integration across platforms.
- Collaborate closely with operations and IT teams to align financial systems with business workflows.
- Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts, investigate variances, and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing and reviewing supporting schedules.
- Help develop and document updated accounting procedures as systems and tools evolve.
- Support external audits and compliance efforts through timely and accurate documentation.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting operations and enhance reporting accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 4 years of accounting experience, preferably within the hospitality, food service, or consumer-facing industries.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close processes.
- Prior experience with POS or ERP system implementations is strongly preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort working across multiple platforms and data sets is required.
- Familiarity with data integrations, automation, and SQL is strongly preferred.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
