Senior Accountant - Insurance POST NUMBER: 478294
The ideal candidate will have strong reconciliation experience, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Insurance accounting exposure is highly preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare daily loss funding transactions and Accounts Payable vouchers
- Address funding and banking-related issues as needed
- Perform and review monthly reconciliations and variance analysis of claim funding accounts
- Ensure TPA documentation and Insurance Certificates remain current and compliant
- Gain working knowledge of various claims and policy management systems
- Maintain strong working relationships with TPA contacts to exchange information and resolve issues
- Support ad hoc requests and special projects as needed
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and partner with Finance, IT, and Operations teams to implement enhancements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting or finance experience
- Strong account reconciliation experience required
- Insurance accounting experience preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to work with large and complex datasets
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands
- Ability to operate with minimal supervision in a deadline-driven environment
