Title: Senior Cost Accountant/Inventory Analyst
Location: Temecula – Fully Onsite
Description: Leader of inventory control team and responsible for ensuring the financial integrity of the inventory. Work with cross-functional partners, using root cause analysis, to identify opportunities for improvement. Implement and drive company best practices/routines
Responsibilities:
- Labor planning and scheduling of inventory control staff - Ensure all activities are completed timely, as labor availability and priorities change, utilizing all personnel effectively. Includes prioritizing and delegating ad hoc requests in cooperation with warehouse operations personnel
- Associate coaching and development - Attract, develop, and lead a highly skilled and motivated team
- Drive continuous improvement - Work with cross-functional partners to identify opportunities for improvement and develop/implement best practices/routines
- Cross-functional collaboration and influence - Identify and resolve root causes of inventory losses, working with cross-functional partners to problem solve and implement preventive measures
- Inventory Adjustments weekly Routine - Working with the Accounting Manager and President; monitor and communicate performance metrics. Analyze significant cycle count adjustments to identify root causes and communicate with the team
- Supervise the Inventory Control team members, ensuring company policies are enforced
- Maintain the integrity of inventory records while following established procedures
- Research complex transaction histories to reconcile discrepancies
- Communicate effectively with all levels of management and customer representatives
- Provide leadership and training to accomplish company goals and objectives
- Investigate all facets of facilities operations to troubleshoot processes and make/recommended improvements
- Provide reporting and analytics associated with maintaining inventory accuracy, variance root cause analysis & trending and compliance with contractual Service Level Agreements/KPIs in an eCommerce Fulfillment Center.
- Ensure customer inventory control accuracy and shrink contract requirements / service level agreements are monitored and reported timely to site leadership
- Participate in the review and analysis of site inventory processes and systems
- Provide required documentation to customer, customer's financial statement auditor or appropriate regulatory auditor in support of compliance requirements
- Develop subject matter expertise regarding: Operational and systemic flow of inventory through the fulfillment center; Inventory accuracy and supply chain metrics; Contractual service level agreements and associated KPIs
- Develop metrics, measurements and reporting to provide Operations and Leadership with better insights into: Inventory Accuracy; Compliance with contractual SLAs/KPIs; Most critical process failures contributing to inventory errors; Cross-functional root cause & remediation of aged: Virtual, Locked and Lost inventory; Short Shipments; Aged Tasks; etc.
Qualifications:
- Education/Training:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work. Associates degree with management or supply chain background preferred.
- Related Experience/Requirements:
- 5 years minimum experience in inventory control
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in SAP implementation projects
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong understanding of inventory control procedures
- Excellent analytical skills
- Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required
- Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office Suite programs (Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Ability to quickly learn and achieve proficiency in new software applications
- Solid time management and multitasking skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present clean, organized and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience
- Self-motivated work style with excellent analytical and math skills
- Solid attention to detail and follow-up skills with the ability to identify and resolve problems
