Title: Tax Manager, Private Credit Funds

Compensation: $145K - $170K base salary

About the Role
Our client, a leading investment management firm, is seeking a Tax Manager to support the tax operations of its private credit investment vehicles. This role will partner closely with fund accounting, legal, investor services, and investment teams while overseeing external tax providers and ensuring timely, accurate fund tax compliance reporting.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee end to end tax compliance for private credit funds, including review of federal and state tax returns, estimates, and investor K-1 distributions prepared by external providers
• Coordinate with external advisors on non U.S. tax filings and related compliance matters
• Support responses to investor and client tax inquiries
• Manage IRS withholding documentation, treaty claims, and review Forms 1042-S for withholding accuracy
• Review and manage informational filings and elections including Forms 926, 5471, 5472, 8621, 8865, 8886, and related filings
• Monitor U.S. withholding tax requirements related to foreign investors, including FDAP and ECI reporting, and oversee Forms 1042 and 8804 filings
• Assist with Forms 1099, FBAR filings, and annual blocker corporation tax provisions
• Partner with internal compliance teams on FATCA and CRS reporting obligations
• Support entity formation and dissolution activities for investment structures
• Manage notices and correspondence from federal, state, and foreign tax authorities
• Provide technical tax guidance and operational support to internal stakeholders
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required
• 6 years of tax experience within Big Four or public accounting environments focused on asset management/private credit funds
• Strong understanding of partnership taxation, withholding tax, and investment fund structures
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort improving processes through automation and technology tools
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
• Strong communication, analytical, and project management skills
• CPA or JD preferred
