

Financial Analyst POST NUMBER: 429702
A growing retail organization is seeking a Financial Analyst to lead the development of internal reporting, forecasting, and financial modeling capabilities. This role will focus on building forecasts from the ground up, creating and maintaining financial models, and delivering actionable insights to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate has experience building reports and models from scratch, a strong grasp of accounting concepts, and advanced skills in Power BI or similar tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain internal financial reports and models to support business strategy and performance monitoring.
- Develop a forecasting framework to track financial results by channel, store, and department.
- Collaborate with operational teams to create customized models that meet location- and department-specific needs.
- Analyze financial performance, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Support budgeting processes, variance analyses, and strategic planning initiatives.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to leverage technology for reporting automation and data accuracy.
- Assist with special projects, such as M&A integration or covering financial close responsibilities when needed.
- Contribute to the development and optimization of data analytics infrastructure to support business intelligence initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in financial analysis role required; prior accounting experience is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience building financial models and reports from scratch.
- Strong understanding of accounting concepts, including balance sheets and income statements.
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI or similar reporting tools; experience with Alteryx is considered transferrable.
- Expertise in advanced Microsoft Excel functions and exposure to ERP systems strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Willingness to travel as needed, particularly during the initial phase of building location-specific models.
