The Controller will serve as a key financial leader, partnering closely with the CFO to oversee all aspects of the accounting function. This role will guide financial reporting, ensure accuracy and integrity across financial statements, and support the organization through continued expansion and transaction activity. The Controller will also play a central role in strengthening processes, enhancing internal controls, and aligning accounting practices with broader business priorities. This individual will lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing team while working cross-functionally to support operational and strategic initiatives.
The right candidate for this Controller role will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA designation required
- 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership of an accounting team
- Proven expertise in GAAP reporting, audit readiness, technical accounting, and financial statement preparation, including disclosures and supporting documentation
- Strong background in multi-entity or multi-location business environments; experience in mid-to-large scale organizations preferred
- Experience supporting acquisitions, including purchase accounting and post-close integration activities
- Background in public accounting, particularly audit, is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with private equity-backed environments is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to optimize processes, enhance controls, and leverage technology to improve efficiency and scalability
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite or similar platforms; advanced Excel proficiency required
- Effective leader with a track record of building, mentoring, and developing teams
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to balance detailed execution and broader strategic perspective
- Adaptable, team-oriented professional with strong communication skills and the ability to partner effectively across the organization
