Compensation: $140,000-160,000 base
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and relationship-driven Business Development Manager to help expand our residential property management portfolio throughout New York City. This role is focused on generating new business opportunities, identifying prospective clients, and building relationships with condominium and cooperative boards, owners, and industry professionals.
The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter with strong networking, communication, and prospecting skills who thrives in a consultative sales environment. This position plays a critical role in growing the firm's presence within the NYC residential real estate market and converting qualified opportunities into long-term management partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities for residential property management services throughout New York City.
- Research and target condominium and cooperative buildings that may be considering a change in property management representation.
- Develop and maintain relationships with board members, unit owners, real estate professionals, attorneys, brokers, consultants, and other industry stakeholders.
- Generate leads through networking events, referrals, market research, public records, property databases, and industry contacts.
- Monitor management transition activity and identify buildings experiencing operational, financial, governance, or service-related challenges.
- Conduct proactive outreach efforts, including cold calling, email campaigns, networking, and in-person meetings.
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and association functions to increase brand visibility and establish new relationships.
- Coordinate introductory meetings, presentations, and discussions between prospective clients and senior leadership.
- Maintain accurate records of prospecting activity, lead generation efforts, pipeline status, and business development opportunities.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals, presentations, marketing materials, and responses to prospective client inquiries.
- Follow up consistently with prospective clients to nurture relationships and advance opportunities through the sales process.
- Collaborate closely with executive leadership and operational teams to develop business development strategies and secure new management assignments.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
- Prior experience in business development, sales, real estate, property management, account management, or a related field preferred.
- Knowledge of New York City condominium and cooperative housing is highly desirable.
- Strong networking, relationship-building, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to generate leads, develop opportunities, and manage a sales pipeline.
- Comfortable conducting cold outreach and engaging with senior-level decision-makers.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems preferred.

- the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;
- office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
