Tax Manager POST NUMBER: 480312
Irving, TX – hybrid, 3 days onsite
One of Vaco’s multi-unit, PE-backed clients is looking for a Tax Manager to provide oversight for their outsourced tax work – this is mostly a review role that will serve as the primary point of contact and liaison with external tax advisors supporting federal, state, local, and property tax compliance. They are highly-acquisitive, averaging 2-4 transactions a month, and it would be great for Tax Managers to have prior knowledge on asset purchases related to acquisitions and how the income “passes through” the organization.
We’ve placed several folks on the accounting team thus far and have received great feedback on culture and leadership!
Compensation; $125-135K 15% Bonus
Day-to-Day
- Manage relationships with external public accounting firms responsible for preparing federal, state, local, sales and use, property, and international tax filings.
- Coordinate the collection, review, and delivery of financial and operational data required for tax return preparation.
- Review tax returns, extensions, estimated payments, and related workpapers prepared by third-party providers for completeness and accuracy prior to filing.
- Monitor tax filing calendars and ensure all compliance obligations are met timely.
- Oversee sales and use tax compliance activities, including nexus reviews and registration requirements.
- Lead the quarterly and annual income tax provision process in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Review tax account reconciliations, deferred tax calculations, and supporting schedules.
- Collaborate with the Accounting team to ensure accurate tax-related journal entries and financial statement disclosures.
- Support tax planning initiatives designed to optimize the Company's tax position while maintaining compliance.
- Evaluate the tax implications of business transactions, acquisitions, restructurings, and other strategic initiatives.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess potential impacts on the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA certification required.
- 6 years of progressive tax experience, including corporate tax compliance and tax accounting.
- Experience managing external public accounting firms or outsourced tax service providers.
