Interim Controller (Hybrid) – Dallas, TX
We are partnering with a growing organization in the Dallas area seeking an experienced Interim Controller to lead accounting and financial operations during a critical period of growth and transformation. This hybrid opportunity is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader who can quickly assess processes, strengthen controls, and provide strategic financial leadership.
Position Overview
The Interim Controller will oversee all accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, payroll oversight, and internal controls. This individual will work closely with executive leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, operational efficiency, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial analysis
- Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting procedures
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff while ensuring departmental objectives are achieved
- Partner with executive leadership to support strategic initiatives and business decisions
- Oversee payroll processes and collaborate with HR on payroll-related matters
- Drive process improvements and system optimization initiatives
- Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations and reporting requirements
- Support audits and coordinate with external auditors as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA strongly preferred
- 10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- Prior Controller or Assistant Controller experience required
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct is required
- Proven ability to lead accounting teams and improve financial processes
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
