Our client is in the real estate industry. They are looking for a Controller who report to the VP Finance who will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of our operations, providing financial leadership, and ensuring the financial health and stability of the organization.

About the Opportunity 
  • Oversee the financial reporting and analysis of the business; manage internal and external relationships; manage risk, compliance and all other critical components of the finance function including proforma forecasting, budgeting, capital structure and taxation.
  • CoLead, alongside the other Controller, the annual forecasting and budgeting process.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to optimize profitability, cash flow, and return on investment.
  • Ensure sound fiscal management practices throughout the organization including having the appropriate capital and tax-effective corporate structures in place.
  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial reports, statements, and performance metrics for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of financial accounting functions and serve as a business partner to other functions of the finance team, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, FP&A and payroll.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Monitor and assess financial risks, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Provide strategic guidance and support to senior management on financial matters, investment decisions, and business planning initiatives contributing to profitable and sustainable growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including property management, development, and operations, to drive financial performance and operational excellence.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Lead on acquisition opportunities including onboarding and integration of assets.
  • Maintaining positive, productive and professional relationships with the company’s consultants, lenders and external auditors.


About You 
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field as well as CPA designation
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting and tax
  • Experience in Real Estate industry
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience



Salary Range 
$120,000 - $125,000/year
