About Our Client
Our client is sourcing an Accounting Specialist for a 12-month contract.
About the Opportunity
- Manage the accounting and reporting of customer-related transactions while ensuring financial records are complete and accurate.
- Prepare customer billings, monitor outstanding balances, and assist with account inquiries.
- Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process, including preparation of financial reports and working papers.
- Perform reconciliations for various general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies as required.
- Record and reconcile transactions between related business entities.
- Assist with government funding applications and other financial incentive programs where applicable.
- Monitor cash activity and support day-to-day treasury functions.
- Coordinate indirect tax filings and assist with corporate compliance requirements.
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and management reporting.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the finance function.
About You
- Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting designation, or working toward completion, is considered an asset.
- Several years of progressive accounting experience within a corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting principles and accounting best practices.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Advanced spreadsheet skills and proficiency with accounting software.
- Experience working with integrated financial systems is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across the business.
