ROLE OVERVIEW:
This role offers the opportunity to own key accounting and financial reporting activities while partnering across the business to support accurate reporting, strengthen internal controls, and drive process improvements. The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex accounting issues, leveraging financial analysis to support decision-making, and contributing to initiatives that enhance the effectiveness and scalability of the finance organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Reporting & Close
- Own accounting activities supporting the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules while identifying trends and resolving discrepancies.
Analysis & Problem Solving
- Research complex accounting matters, investigate variances, and partner with leadership to resolve issues impacting financial results.
- Perform financial analyses to support reporting, forecasting, and business decision-making.
Business Partnership & Process Improvement
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance and business partners to improve accounting processes, strengthen reporting, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Participate in projects and process improvement initiatives that support a scalable and best-in-class finance organization.
Controls & Compliance
- Support SOX compliance and internal control activities, partnering with internal and external auditors during financial and regulatory audits.
- Ensure accounting documentation and supporting schedules meet internal control and audit requirements.
Leadership
- Review work prepared by junior team members and provide coaching, guidance, and mentorship as needed.
DESIRED BACKGROUND:
- Bachelor’s degree Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting
- 3 years of experience in accounting, tax, finance or relevant experience
- Demonstrated understanding of intermediate GAAP concepts and financial controls
- Advanced skills in MS office programs (Excel, Word, Access)
- CPA or CPA candidate a plus
