This position is the top accounting/finance role in the company, will manage a small team, and work very closely with the CEO and COO.
Responsibilities:
- Planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions.
- Managing the consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.
- Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements and coordinating activities of external auditors.
- Providing the CEO with information vital to the decision-making process.
- Managing the budget process and tracking/reporting variances.
- Evaluating accounting and internal control systems.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting databases.
- Developing and monitoring business performance metrics.
- Oversee any required regulatory reporting to include tax planning and compliance.
- Hiring, training, and retaining skilled accounting staff when required.
- A catalyst for providing management with the right information at the right time to support business execution.
- Monitoring and balancing cash flows in and out of the business to meet obligations in a timely manner.
- Managing the daily operational aspects of banking relationships.
- Oversee current controls and introduce and enforce sound financial procedures when required.
- Establish procedures that will result in accurate accrual-based accounting
- BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related. CPA and/or MBA preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, cash management, and budgeting
- Proven leadership experience and strong management skills
- Proficiency with ERP systems. QuickBooks experience strongly preferred
