Senior Accountant POST NUMBER: 418690
Fort Worth, TX – Hybrid (4 Days Onsite)
One of Vaco’s global clients in business for over 25 years is looking to onboard a Senior Accountant for their subsidiary here in Dallas. This will report up to someone we’ve worked with quite extensively that recently took a new role with the company – she’s a hands off, laid-back Manager, super flexible and likes to mentor her folks for future opportunities. High preference for someone coming out of a publicly-traded environment with exposure to SOX.
Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reports.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor budget variances and provide analysis to management. Make recommendations for cost-saving opportunities.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Review journal entries and account reconciliations prepared by junior accounting staff.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes. Analyze trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to forecast future revenues and expenses.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies. Keep abreast of changes in accounting regulations and standards.
- Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits. Provide necessary documentation and support to auditors to ensure a smooth audit process.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting procedures and systems. Implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Active CPA or CPA eligible strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive, relevant experience.
- Intermediate MS Excel background.
- Experience working with various systems, including but not limited to Dynamics 365, SAP, Concur and/or Blackline
- In-depth knowledge of Accounting theory and application of U.S. GAAP.
- Experience with financial reporting and financial statement preparation.
- General ledger and related reconciliation experience.
