Job Title: Senior Cost Accountant-- Contract (on-site)
Location: North of Noblesville, IN
Job Type: Contract

Salary: up to $55/hr
Position Overview: Our client is currently seeking a Contract Senior Cost Accountant to manage all aspects of cost accounting. This position involves working closely with various departments to analyze costs, prepare reports, and support the company's financial planning and decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to drive process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Cost Analysis & Reporting: Perform detailed cost analysis, including variance analysis, standard cost updates, and cost allocation. Prepare and present cost reports to management.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory costing, ensure accurate valuation, and conduct regular inventory reconciliations.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with the finance team to develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial plans related to cost management.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for cost reduction and process improvements. Implement best practices in cost accounting and financial analysis.
  • Internal Controls: Maintain and enhance internal controls related to cost accounting and inventory management.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the production, procurement, and operations teams to gather data, understand cost drivers, and provide financial insights to support business decisions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA/CMA certification is preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
