Vaco Atlanta is seeking an Interim Tax Manager for a 5-6 month contract. This manager will be responsible for overseeing the organization's tax compliance, planning, and reporting activities while ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations. This role offers remote flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and review partnership tax compliance, including oversight of partnership tax returns and related reporting.
- Coordinate and review Schedule K-1 preparation, ensuring accuracy and timely distribution to partners and stakeholders.
- Oversee partnership tax matters, including tax planning, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and review tax accounting entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for financial reporting.
- Serve as the primary tax liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including accounting, executive leadership, auditors, tax advisors, and employees.
- Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, strengthen internal controls, and enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA highly preferred.
- 5–8 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting and/or corporate tax.
- Strong knowledge of partnership taxation, pass-through entities, and multi-state tax compliance.
- Experience with K-1 reporting, composite tax filings, PTET elections, and tax accounting.
- Working knowledge of payroll tax compliance and related regulations.
- Experience coordinating with external tax advisors and managing multiple deadlines.
