Accounting Manager POST NUMBER: 421102
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join one of our large, publicly traded clients. The Accounting Manager will focus on aspects of revenue accounting, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, managing the revenue month-end close process, and supporting financial reporting requirements. This position is critical in maintaining accurate revenue records, analyzing financial data, and providing insights to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Revenue Recognition: Manage and oversee the revenue recognition process in compliance with ASC 606 and other applicable accounting standards.
- Month-End Close: Lead the month-end close process for revenue-related accounts, ensuring timely and accurate closing and reporting.
- Revenue Analysis: Analyze and review revenue transactions and contracts to ensure proper classification, timing, and reporting.
- Financial Reporting: Collaborate with the finance team to prepare revenue-related disclosures and financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements in revenue accounting operations to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Audit Support: Act as the primary contact for internal and external auditors during revenue accounting audits, providing all necessary documentation and ensuring compliance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Sales, Legal, and Operations teams to ensure alignment of contracts and agreements with revenue recognition practices.
- Team Management: Supervise, mentor, and develop junior members of the accounting team, providing guidance on complex revenue accounting issues.
- System Management: Oversee the revenue accounting system, ensuring it is optimized and aligned with company processes and reporting requirements.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification highly preferred.
- Experience: 5-7 years of progressive experience in revenue accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Experience working with a large ERP and large volumes of data.
- Process improvement minded and team oriented.
