Job Title: HR Manager - Employee Relations
Experience Level: Mid-Level
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced HR Manager with a focus on employee relations and a strong background within a manufacturing environment. With at least 7 years of experience in human resources management, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing employee relations, ensuring legal compliance, and implementing strategies to foster a positive and productive work culture.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Employee Relations:
    • Lead and manage the employee relations function, handling complex workplace issues including conflict resolution, grievances, and disciplinary actions.
    • Provide guidance and support to supervisors and managers in effectively managing employee relations and ensuring consistent application of company policies.
    • Conduct thorough investigations into employee complaints and ensure resolution in a fair and legally compliant manner.
    • Develop and implement initiatives to improve employee engagement, job satisfaction, and retention.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:
    • Supervise and mentor a team of HR professionals, providing leadership, training, and development opportunities to enhance their performance and growth.
    • Oversee day-to-day HR operations, ensuring the team meets objectives in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Facilitate effective communication between HR staff and other departments to support business objectives and foster collaboration.
  • Compliance and Policy Management:
    • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as company policies and procedures.
    • Regularly update and enforce HR policies in response to changes in legislation or business needs, ensuring that policies reflect best practices in the industry.
    • Partner with legal counsel and external consultants to address complex employee relations issues while minimizing risks.
  • Workforce Planning and Strategy:
    • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement workforce strategies that align with business goals.
    • Analyze trends and metrics related to employee relations and use data to make informed decisions and recommendations to leadership.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of HR experience, with at least 4 years in a management role
  • Strong expertise in employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance management
  • In-depth knowledge of labor laws and compliance requirements within a manufacturing setting
  • Proven leadership abilities with a track record of managing HR teams and improving organizational performance
Skills & Competencies:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to build strong relationships and influence at all levels of the organization
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification
  • Experience in labor relations, union environments, and manufacturing settings
