Cost Accounting Manager POST NUMBER: 423491
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze production costs, including material usage, labor, and overhead, to ensure accuracy in product costing.
- Perform yield variance analysis to identify discrepancies between actual and standard yields, investigating root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Collaborate with production teams to improve process efficiency and reduce waste, with a focus on optimizing yield and minimizing cost variances.
- Maintain and update bill of materials (BOMs) and production standards to ensure alignment with actual manufacturing processes.
- Reconcile inventory balances on a monthly basis, ensuring that inventory values tie to the general ledger and resolving any discrepancies.
- Prepare cost reports and analysis for management, providing insights into cost drivers, profitability, and areas for cost reduction.
- Assist with month-end close activities, including inventory valuation, journal entries, and accruals related to production costs.
- Participate in annual standard cost updates and budgeting processes, working with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate cost forecasting.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Cost accounting experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of yield variance analysis and its impact on production costs.
- Experience with ERP systems and proficiency in Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
