Director of Accounting
We are partnering with a healthcare company who is looking for a motivated and collaborative Director of Accounting. The ideal candidate has a background in public accounting with strong technical accounting expertise. This role involves leading financial reporting and analysis, managing internal controls, overseeing monthly close operations, supporting audits, and handling special projects.
Responsibilities

Manage the overall accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and asset tracking.

Oversee the creation and timely submission of financial statements according to accounting standards.

Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal tax laws and financial reporting standards.

Handle external audits by preparing schedules and reports as needed.

Guide and mentor the accounting team to achieve operational excellence.

Establish and maintain internal controls to protect company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Develop management reports, financial forecasts, and variance analyses to provide insights into performance.

Collaborate with other departments to formulate financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts.

Lead efforts to enhance accounting processes and leverage technology for efficiency.

Engage in special projects, such as system upgrades and mergers.

Develops, maintains, and enforces accounting policies and procedures.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

CPA is preferred.

8 years of experience in public accounting or finance, including management experience.

Strong experience in financial reporting, consolidation, and tax knowledge preferred.

Experience with accounting and financial software systems.

Solid grasp of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements

Excellent management, time management, and project management skills; build strong cross-functional relationships.

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
