Engagement: Sales and Use Tax Consultant
Location: Downtown Indianapolis (Hybrid)
Pay Rate: Up to $60 per hour
Industry: Chemical Manufacturing
Reporting To: Global Controller
Schedule: Hybrid
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and evaluate current sales and use tax calculation and filing processes.
- Identify inaccuracies and inefficiencies in the existing tax filing methods.
- Suggest and implement process improvements, with a focus on future automation.
- Manage and maintain the Vertex tax software, ensuring it is up-to-date and operating efficiently.
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve tax filing accuracy and compliance.
- Proactively engage in process optimization to streamline future tax operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience with sales and use tax processes, ideally within the manufacturing industry.
- Ability to independently identify and address issues in tax filing and calculation processes.
- Strong experience with Vertex or similar tax automation software.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on process improvement and automation.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
