Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join a dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cost accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate financial insights effectively. This role is critical in driving financial efficiency and supporting strategic decision-making within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze cost reports, budgets, and forecasts, providing insights to management on cost trends and variances.
- Develop and maintain standard costs for products and services, ensuring accuracy and alignment with financial goals.
- Conduct cost analysis to identify areas for improvement, optimizing manufacturing and operating costs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and finance, to determine cost drivers and efficiencies.
- Implement and monitor cost control measures, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including variance analysis and reconciliations.
- Support the development of financial models and scenarios to guide strategic planning initiatives.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA designation preferred.
- Minimum of [5 ] years of experience in cost accounting or a similar financial role
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting methods and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work.
