Our client is a GTA hospital. They are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst who will be responsible for managing departmental operating budgets and leading the delivery of financial statement reporting to the leadership team.

Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate and prepare monthly financial statements and variance reports
- Monitor assigned program operational performance against plan by providing monthly status and year end forecast reports
- Track progress of assigned projects through budget tracking and variance analysis
- Business partnering with various departments within the hospital to gain a better understanding of on- going and planned activities
- Prepare and maintain the capital planning records and funding requests made by various departments
- Provide support to programs and services by assisting in navigating financial and non-financial data to improve operational efficiency
- Update and maintain cash flow forecasts and portfolio forecasts
- Assist with monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes of funds and accounts
- Assist in the preparation and review of account reconciliations to ensure quality control and accuracy of accounting records in accordance with MIS Guidelines
- Assist in the preparation of the annual financial statements, including note disclosures and supporting working papers required for the external audit review
- Coordinate the external audit review of Hospital accounting systems and records
- Ensure accounting policies used are in compliance with internal policies and MIS Guidelines
- Support preparation of Hospital’s program budgets, regularly monitor and analyze variances and report on strategies to achieve accountability to the hospital's Strategic Plan
- Perform capital project reconciliations and prepare other required ministry submissions
- Participate in business case preparation and tracking, including providing programs with financial and statistical support and expertise regarding costing of hospital initiatives
- Provide strategic problem solving and support to assigned program leaders and business units
- Participate in projects involving the hospital and external stakeholders including but not limited to the following: budget and business intelligence tools implementations, assistance with analysis of various requests for proposal, costing for specific initiatives, etc.
- Other ad hoc tasks and projects as assigned

- Ad hoc assignments as required
- CPA (preference for completed or near completion, open to foreign CAs/CPAs)
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience at the Financial Analyst level
- Hybrid experience with (FP&A and Month-end accounting/reporting)
- Relevant industry would be a plus - healthcare, hospital or public sector (i.e. municipality, school boards, ministry reporting, etc.)
$85,000 - $95,000/year

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:
- the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;
- office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
