Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Lead with 3-5 years of experience in tax preparation, specifically focused on partnership returns (Form 1065). The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience reviewing tax returns and demonstrate a strong understanding of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements. This role will primarily involve the preparation and review of partnership tax filings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness while working closely with clients and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review partnership tax returns (Form 1065) and related schedules.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Conduct detailed reviews of tax returns, ensuring accuracy and adherence to applicable tax laws.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency for tax filings.
- Identify and implement tax-saving strategies for clients while ensuring compliance.
- Respond to client inquiries regarding tax-related issues and provide expert advice on partnership taxation.
- Maintain and update knowledge of current tax laws and regulations, particularly those affecting partnerships.
- Assist in year-end tax planning and projections for partnerships.
- Assist with IRS and state tax audits and notices related to partnership filings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or EA preferred).
- 3-5 years of tax preparation experience, with a strong focus on partnership returns (Form 1065).
- At least one year of experience reviewing tax returns.
- Solid understanding of partnership taxation, allocations, and K-1 reporting.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software (e.g., ProSystem, Lacerte, or similar) and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with multi-tiered partnerships or large complex partnership structures.
- Familiarity with state-specific partnership filing requirements.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
