Senior Tax Analyst POST NUMBER: 425769
Overview: Our client is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join their team. They are looking for a candidate who can handle complex tax filings and has experience in a reviewer position. The primary focus of this role will be the preparation and review of partnership tax returns (1065).
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review partnership tax returns (Form 1065), ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Oversee and ensure the timely filing of tax returns, with a focus on partnership returns.
- Collaborate with the tax team to support tax planning initiatives and implement process improvements for efficient tax reporting.
- Perform tax research and analysis to ensure compliance with evolving tax laws and regulations.
- Provide support for tax audits and inquiries by gathering relevant documentation and liaising with external auditors as needed.
- Assist in the development and mentorship of junior tax staff, sharing knowledge and best practices related to partnership tax returns.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in the tax filing and reporting processes.
- Maintain confidentiality throughout all aspects of the role, ensuring that sensitive company information is protected.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in tax preparation, with a strong emphasis on partnership tax returns (1065).
- At least 1 year of experience in a tax reviewer role.
- Strong understanding of partnership taxation, including allocation of income, losses, and tax credits.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or working toward certification is preferred.
- Experience in a public accounting firm or corporate tax department with a focus on partnership returns.
