Financial Analyst - 1 Year Contract (Part-Time) POST NUMBER: 426002
About the Opportunity
Report Development- Develops reports identified by the Senior Analyst, Manager, or CFIO, using tools such as PeopleSoft, Excel and Access; distributes reports electronically to staff as required.
- Develops and maintains a library of all reports, including appropriate report documentation (e.g., purpose of report, revisions, etc.).
- Develops tools, under the direction of Senior Analyst or Manager, to consolidate and report on Agency financial requirements.
- Provides support and information to management staff to assist them in understanding their financial requirements and developing appropriate operating and capital budgets for each program.
- Provides support and information as needed to develop proposals to funders for new programs.
- Provides support and information to staff to assist them in understanding their spending patterns and make decisions that result in more efficient spending of Association’s resources.
- Prepares ad hoc reports to support management decision making.
- Conducts monthly accounts analysis and reconciliations.
- Handles responsibility for maintenance of General Ledger-Chartfield maintenance, journal entries, and month-end closing.
- Prepares Employer Health Tax and WSIB monthly submission.
- Provides assistance with year-end closing and audit as required.
- Provide formal finance training as required.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business or a related discipline.
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development and actively pursuing CPA program at a senior level.
- Minimum 3 – 5 years progressive experience in Finance/Accounting, including 1-2 years of experience in decision support.
- High level of proficiency in the use of computer tools, including an ERP-based financial system, preferably PeopleSoft.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Access, Word, Access, VBA, and Outlook.
- Intermediate knowledge of Financial Accounting and GAAP.
- Ability to handle application of advanced analytical and computer skills for the analysis of non-routine financial information.
- Accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
- Ability to handle overlapping deadlines and frequent changes in priorities.
- Intermediate level of knowledge of management accounting.
Hourly Rate
$30 - $35/hr
