This role will be responsible for leading the accounting department, overseeing complex accounting activities, including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation, and the support of budget and forecast activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, exceptional analytical abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Develop and present financial reports to ownership and executives as needed.
- Manage the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.
- Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Manage and execute month-end and year-end close process.
- Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments.
- Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
- Perform annual audits and provide recommendations for improving procedures and systems for initiating corrective actions.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Experience in the construction industry highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with accounting software, ERP systems, and databases ( ViewPoint Vista Expertise a plus )
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Attention to detail and an ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior or supervisory role.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation.
