Position Overview: Vaco is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant to join our dedicated team of consultants. This role is ideal for a skilled accounting professional, preferably a CPA, who is ready to leverage their expertise to provide high-quality financial services to our clients. You will work collaboratively within a team of permanently employed consultants, contributing to financial reporting, compliance, and strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Oversee the month-end close process, including reconciliations and journal entries, to ensure timely reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Maintain and improve internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and ensure seamless financial operations.
- Support external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Mentor and train junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on corporate accounting or financial reporting.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and auditing standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, with advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
