Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager to lead and optimize our receivables operations within a fast-paced packaging company. The AR Manager will oversee the entire accounts receivable process, ensuring timely collection, accurate record-keeping, and effective collaboration with customers and internal departments. This role is vital to ensuring the company’s cash flow remains healthy while maintaining positive relationships with customers.
Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable Management:
- Oversee and manage the full AR cycle, including invoicing, collections, and dispute resolution.
- Monitor outstanding balances and ensure timely follow-up on overdue payments.
- Develop, implement, and enforce AR policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Credit Control & Customer Relationship Management:
- Assess customer creditworthiness and recommend appropriate credit limits.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to manage payment terms and resolve disputes promptly.
- Collaborate with the sales team to align payment terms with sales agreements and resolve invoicing discrepancies.

Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare regular reports on AR aging, collection status, and cash flow forecasts.
- Analyze AR data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Provide recommendations to senior management on credit policies and cash management strategies.

Team Leadership:
- Lead, train, and develop a small team of AR specialists.
- Set performance goals, monitor team progress, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Systems & Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for automation and process enhancements within the AR function.
- Ensure the proper use of ERP systems and accounting software to maintain accurate and up-to-date AR records.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to streamline AR workflows and support system implementations.

Compliance & Audits:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support internal and external audits related to the AR function.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (or equivalent).
- Experience: 5 years of experience in accounts receivable, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role (experience in the packaging or manufacturing industry preferred).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and mentor a team.
- Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail, with the ability to analyze AR metrics and provide actionable insights.
- Communication: Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with customers.
- Problem Solving: Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to manage disputes and resolve payment issues.

- Reduction in DSO (Days Sales Outstanding)
- Percentage of overdue invoices collected
- AR aging ratio performance
- Timely and accurate AR reporting
- Customer satisfaction and relationship management
