Job Summary:
Our client is seeking an experienced SEC Financial Reporting Accountant for a contract assignment. The SEC Financial Reporting Accountant will be responsible for preparing and filing all SEC-related financial reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations. This role is critical in supporting the company’s financial reporting and disclosure requirements while working closely with internal and external auditors.
Key Responsibilities:
- SEC Reporting:
Prepare and file quarterly (10-Q) and annual (10-K) SEC financial statements and disclosures, including footnotes, MD&A, and earnings releases. Ensure accuracy and compliance with SEC and U.S. GAAP requirements. - Compliance and Disclosure Requirements:
Maintain compliance with SEC regulations, including the preparation of 8-Ks, Proxy Statements, and other ad-hoc filings. Stay current on SEC regulations, U.S. GAAP, and accounting pronouncements to ensure proper application and compliance. - Financial Analysis and Documentation:
Collaborate with the finance and accounting teams to gather information for financial reporting, analyze complex financial data, and ensure that the financial statements accurately reflect the company’s financial position. - Audit and SOX Compliance:
Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and supporting schedules. Ensure compliance with SOX internal controls related to financial reporting. - Collaboration with Legal and Investor Relations:
Work closely with the legal and investor relations teams to ensure accuracy and compliance in public financial communications, including earnings releases and investor presentations. - Research and Implementation of New Standards:
Conduct research on new accounting standards and SEC regulations. Assist in the implementation of new financial reporting processes and standards as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA required.
- 5 years of experience in financial reporting or public accounting, with specific experience in SEC reporting.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and financial statement preparation.
- Experience working with XBRL tagging and filing software is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and technical accounting skills, with a strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
