Sr. QA Manager - Job Summary:
In this role, you will be responsible for leading a large QA team with up to 10 direct reports.  These QA teams are embedded in 5 agile teams supporting major products such as Policy Center, Rating, Billing Center, Agency Management System, Quoting Hub just to name a few. The QA team comprise of functional and automation skill set. We are looking for a leader with strong Change Leadership, Strong QA background, strong delivery management, relationship management experience working with business partners.  Someone who will champion any new changes, leading new charges while also managing the operations and getting us to the next level of maturity. 

Job Duties:
Facilitates a work environment that fosters and supports ethical decision-making and actions by motivating, promoting, and modeling ethical behavior, as well as executing job responsibilities in accordance with core values, ethics, and information protection policies.
  • Responsible for managing staff, including hiring, goal setting, planning and delegation of work, training and skill development, coaching/mentoring and completing performance evaluations.  
  • Define and maintain holistic software quality assurance strategies including automation roadmap partnering with business and technology stakeholders.  
  • Champion continuous improvement of QA services and value with defined metrics  
  • Define and lead adoption of QA standards and practices leveraging layered testing principles to enable product quality. 
  • Address QA impediments for agile teams that emerge as part of project or product life cycle  
  • Participate in budget planning and tracking for QA tools, training, and staffing

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Business and Technology acumen, Software Development Life cycle.
  • Agile framework like SAFe, Scrum, Kanban.
  • Knowledge of modern Test Management tools.
  • Knowledge of layered automation tools.
  • Familiar with Cloud and modern Digital products, Knowledge of DevOps principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of risk management.
  • Extensive experience in Software QA Manual and Automation testing. 
  • Emotional intelligence Project Management. 
  • Presentation skills Excellent Communication Coaching, Mentoring skills. 
  • Strategic thinking Decision making Prioritization and Problem solving. 
  • Change management.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 
  • Knowledge or experience in Property Insurance industry 
  • 6 years of experience in enterprise-level software testing with web-based applications in a large-scale, relational database environment AND - 2 or more years of leadership experience
  • Knowledge of tools like Rally, ReadyAPI, Selenium, Postman, Parasoft 
  • Knowledge of Guidewire platform

Relevant Experience and Education
  • High School Diploma | GED (required) 
  • Associate/Technical Degree OR 2 years relevant experience, OR a combination of both college and experience equivalent to 2 years  
  • Bachelor’s Degree OR 3 years relevant experience, OR a combination of college education and relevant experience equivalent to 3 years
  • Additional education may count towards work experience
