Staff Accountant | $55k-$65k | Hybrid POST NUMBER: 427718
The Staff Accountant will perform a variety of accounting tasks. The position will be responsible for performing accounting transactions related to fixed assets, intangible assets, and leases. The Staff Accountant will also be responsible for maintaining account reconciliations and resolving financial discrepancies. Additionally, this position will routinely assist with various audit request. The person filling this position must have a working knowledge of general account as well as a high proficiency in excel. This position reports to the Accounting Manager.
Duties And Responsibilities / Essential Functions
- Performs accounting transactions related to fixed assets, intangible assets and leases including the recording newly acquired assets, periodic depreciation and amortization and disposition
- Assists with the implementation of the new lease standard, including the organization and tracking of all facility leases
- Maintains account reconciliations and resolves financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
- Assists with various audit requests
- Collaborates with and supports departmental peers with the potential to assist with oversight and mentorship of the accounting intern(s).
- Participates in continuous improvement effort
Required Education, Experience & Competencies
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 1 – 3 years of experience in an accounting or accounting-related role
- Understanding and working knowledge of general accounting
- High proficiency in excel
- Must have strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
- Must possess the desire to grow and advance career with the Company
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, problem solve and make reasonable decisions based on company policies and practices
- Able to troubleshoot and solve problems proactively and independently
- Must be highly adaptable and flexible to ever-changing demands and priorities in a very fast-paced environment
- Flexible and able to excel in a fast-paced environment
