Contract-to-Hire JIB Accountant
About the Opportunity
Vaco is partnering with a growing oil and gas company seeking a JIB Accountant to provide immediate support during a transition period. This role is expected to begin as a contract engagement with strong potential to convert to a full-time position for the right individual. Key Responsibilities
- Perform monthly Joint Interest Billing (JIB) processes and partner billings
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Calculate and record overhead allocations
- Manage accruals and month-end accounting activities
- Reconcile accounts and investigate variances
- Support accounting operations related to working and non-operating interests
- Assist with ad hoc reporting and special projects
- Collaborate with accounting leadership to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
Qualifications
- Strong Joint Interest Billing (JIB) accounting experience required
- Hands-on experience with journal entries, accruals, overhead calculations, and monthly billing cycles
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
- OGSYS experience is a plus but not required
- Ability to work independently and quickly become productive with minimal ramp-up time

Compensation
- Target conversion salary range: $80,000 - $100,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications
