Position Summary:
Vaco Denver is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Manager to oversee and manage the end-to-end accounts payable process for our client in the healthcare industry. In this role, you will be responsible for processing high-volume invoices, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, and supporting various accounting functions. This is an individual contributor role, and you will not have direct reports but will play a key role in maintaining the efficiency and integrity of the accounts payable function.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the full AP process, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices. This includes reviewing, coding, and verifying invoices before approval and payment.
  • Manage and execute the payment process, including preparing checks, ACH payments, and wire transfers. Ensure all payments are completed in accordance with company policies and deadlines.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for vendors regarding payment inquiries, disputes, and account reconciliations. Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors to resolve any issues promptly.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions, ensuring that all discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Review and manage employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies. Process reimbursements and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Assist with the preparation of 1099 forms and ensure compliance with sales and use tax regulations as they relate to accounts payable.
  • Maintain and update AP records in the company’s financial software (e.g., NetSuite, Concur, etc.), ensuring that data is accurate and up to date.
  • Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to the AP process to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and streamline workflows.
  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure proper allocation of expenses and support other accounting-related functions as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting function, with a minimum of 3 years in an AP management or senior AP role.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with financial software (NetSuite, Concur, Yooz, or similar platforms) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and AP processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and resolve them proactively.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Concur or other expense management systems is a plus.
  • Experience in healthcare or similar regulated industries is a plus.

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
