Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of accurate financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory guidelines.
- Support the Controller in developing and maintaining internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures that comply with legislation and best practices.
- Process journal entries, invoices, and reconciliations for monthly and year-end closings.
- Help prepare financial forecasts, budgets, and management reports.
- Review accounting records to identify and resolve discrepancies or imbalances.
- Utilize accounting software and systems to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting (experience with F9 or Cumulus is a plus).
- Reconcile bank accounts, including daily and month-end reconciliations.
- Oversee payroll reconciliations and ensure timely processing.
- Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Work closely with the accounting team and property staff to meet deadlines and achieve company goals.
- Proven experience as in accounting (3 years preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
- Strong understanding of data analysis, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to work with team members across departments.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience with F9/Cumulus accounting software is a plus.
- Prior experience in real estate or property management is preferred but not required.
