Senior Accountant POST NUMBER: 430524
Dallas-Fort Worth, TX - hybrid 3 days onsite
**CPA or CPA in-progress required**
One of Vaco’s privately-held real estate clients is building out a presence in Dallas and is looking to onboard a Senior Accountant as part of that growth. Accountants will be responsible for the full cycle accounting for one of their new clients as well as reviewing investor agreements and maintaining investor records.
This is an opportunity to Be a founding member and get in on the ground floor with executive exposure (Principals are moving to DFW.)
Base compensation ranges from 90-100K and will include an annual performance bonus.
Day-to-day
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all entries.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Perform regular reconciliations for bank accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other key accounts.
- Participate in the month-end closing process, including preparing accruals, prepaid expenses, and other adjusting journal entries.
- Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts and monitor budget variances, providing insights to department leaders.
- Support external audit requirements by preparing requested documentation and maintaining accurate records. Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions and ensure timely payments and collections.
- Review and verify employee expense reports for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Collaborate with the accounting team on ad-hoc projects, process improvements, and system enhancements as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in accounting or related fields, with familiarity in general ledger functions, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or NetSuite) is a plus.
