Title: Senior Accountant
Location: San Diego - Mandatory once a week onsite
Salary: $85-110K(DOE) Bonus Equity
Job Description:

Responsibilities:
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and analyses, ensuring accuracy in line with GAAP and meeting internal/external deadlines.
- Calculate and analyze R&D and Clinical Trial accruals; collaborate with internal and external partners to resolve issues and ensure accurate reporting.
- Track and report expenses related to non-dilutive grant funding, and prepare budget-to-actuals and financial analysis reports.
- Record bank and credit card activity, including accruals, and prepare weekly wire reports for the Chief Accounting Officer, processing wire payments as needed.
- Ensure accurate GL coding for AP, purchase requests, and expense reports; manage AP Aging, accruals, and identify unrecorded liabilities.
- Troubleshoot integration errors between NetSuite and SAP Concur.
- Support quarterly reviews and annual audits with external auditors, ensuring documentation of procedures and internal controls in line with Sarbanes-Oxley and company standards.
- Manage incoming mail, prepare 1099s, and address internal and external business partner requests, fostering respectful, productive relationships.
- Lead workflow process improvements and assist with special ad-hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Thorough understanding of GAAP
- Advanced Excel skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Public accounting background preferred
- Life sciences industry experience preferred
- Experience using NetSuite preferred
- Experience with SAP Concur a plus
