Accounting Manager POST NUMBER: 307153
We are recruiting an Accounting Manager for a company in Raleigh. You will play a key role in overseeing daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end close. This is a hands-on position, responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, and supporting strong internal controls and accounting processes. This role will involve oversight of key general ledger accounts, complex accounting matters, and financial reporting activities, while partnering with cross-functional teams to support operational and business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
- Review financial results and balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with US GAAP.
- Manage accounting activities across various areas of the business, including operational transactions, asset-related accounts, and other key financial reporting areas.
- Research and resolve accounting issues, providing guidance on appropriate accounting treatment and ensuring consistent application of accounting policies.
- Prepare and review supporting schedules, account analyses, and financial reporting deliverables.
- Partner with Finance and operational teams to support financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and business initiatives.
- Maintain effective internal controls, support external audits, and ensure appropriate documentation of accounting processes and procedures.
- Provide oversight and guidance to accounting staff, including reviewing work, establishing priorities, and supporting professional development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field and 4 years of progressive accounting or audit experience. CPA preferred. Candidates coming directly from public accounting are encouraged to apply.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and month-end close processes.
- Experience with complex account reconciliations, financial statement analysis, and accounting matters requiring technical judgment.
