VP of Finance POST NUMBER: 431600
We are partnering with a construction company in search of a VP of Finance to oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, risk management, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate will have experience with proficiency in percentage of completion (POC) accounting, and a history of leading financial teams.
Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings, and manage compliance with accounting standards and audits.
- Manage project accounting using the percentage of completion (POC) method, ensuring proper recognition of revenue and expenses throughout project lifecycles.
- Manage the preparation of financial statements and ensure compliance with internal controls, financial audits, and tax filings.
- Oversee the budgeting process and provide financial forecasts, collaborating with departments to track performance and make adjustments as needed.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations and senior leadership, to offer financial insights and support data-driven decision-making.
- Lead initiatives to enhance financial processes, improve reporting accuracy, and increase efficiency in finance and accounting operations.
- Lead a high-performing finance team, ensuring alignment with company goals and providing mentorship and growth opportunities for staff.
- Identify and address financial risks related to projects and contracts, developing strategies to mitigate potential issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance leadership roles, with at least 5 years in a senior management position, preferably within the construction or engineering industries.
- Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and regulatory compliance (GAAP, SOX, etc.).
- Experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale budgets and optimize financial operations.
- Experience with financial tools and software (e.g., Procore, Viewpoint, or similar platforms) is highly preferred.
