Job Description: Infrastructure Server Manager
Environment – Hybrid
Term – Contract to Hire (conversion after 6 months)
Rate/Salary - $55 to $60 per hour on W2 (salary conversion $110/120K plus quarterly and yearly bonuses

Position Overview:

We seek a dynamic and experienced Infrastructure Server Manager with prior or current Manage Service Provider (MSP) experience to lead our IT professionals in managing and optimizing our client's server infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will possess prior or current expertise in Azure, Microsoft technologies, Office 365, networking, SAN, WAN, and LAN, strongly focusing on leading team operations, ensuring high availability, and driving infrastructure modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead and mentor a team of server administrators and engineers, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
    • Assign tasks, manage workloads, and ensure timely delivery of projects.
    • Provide training and professional development opportunities to keep the team updated on emerging technologies.
  • Infrastructure Management:
    • Oversee server infrastructure's design, deployment, and maintenance, both on-premises and in Azure.
    • Manage Office 365 environments, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with business needs.
    • Ensure robust networking solutions, including SAN, WAN, and LAN configurations, to support seamless operations.
  • Cloud and Hybrid Strategies:
    • Develop and implement migration strategies to transition on-premises workloads to Azure or hybrid environments.
    • Optimize cloud resource usage for performance and cost efficiency.
    • Ensure compliance with best practices for security and availability in cloud deployments.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Monitor system performance and proactively address issues to minimize downtime.
    • Manage patching, updates, and lifecycle management of server environments.
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of server configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including application developers and business stakeholders, to align infrastructure with organizational goals.
    • Serve as the point of contact for escalations and high-priority incidents, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Compliance and Security:
    • Implement and enforce security protocols to safeguard data and systems.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including data protection and disaster recovery requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in server infrastructure management, including on-premises and Azure environments.
  • Expertise in Microsoft technologies such as Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365, and Azure AD.
  • Strong understanding of networking principles, including SAN, WAN, and LAN.
  • Experience leading and managing IT teams with a successful project delivery record.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes, change management, and incident management.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Azure Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server) are a plus.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in scripting and automation using PowerShell or other tools.
  • Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools for proactive system management
