Interim Billings Operations Manager

Our client, a technology company in a high-growth stage, is seeking an Interim Billings Operations Manager to lead their billing team and drive transformative process improvements. This role is instrumental in ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, regulatory compliance, and the continuous optimization of billing processes. Reporting directly to the SVP of Business Operations, this position offers the opportunity to shape operational strategies within a fast-paced, agile environment. The role is fully remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee billing processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness for client invoicing.

  • Lead revenue assurance initiatives to prevent inaccuracies and maintain compliance with billing regulations.

  • Identify and implement upstream and downstream process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability.

  • Mentor and train billing staff to embrace new systems and processes, fostering a culture of transformation and continuous learning.

  • Prepare and present regular reports on billing activities to senior management.

  • Conduct audits and reconciliations of billing records to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Evaluate and integrate billing software and systems to improve operational efficiency.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Revenue, Sales Operations, Product, and Finance teams to drive organizational goals.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Build team engagement during high-volume periods and lead process improvement initiatives.

  • Develop frameworks around billing activities to add structure and scalability.

  • Promote innovation and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience in Billing Operations, including working with various billing platforms and revenue operations in a tech environment.

  • Strong operational skills with hands-on experience in AR, billings, and collections processes.

  • Experience with SFDC CPQ and familiarity with Rev Right or similar revenue systems (Epicor is a bonus).

  • Proven ability to lead teams in high-growth, fast-paced companies, particularly in the software or tech industries.

  • Comfortable working in an agile, less-structured environment with a startup mentality.

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, curiosity, and a customer-centric mindset.
