Staff Accountant POST NUMBER: 432511
Other duties in this role will be building P&L statements for over 20 locations on a quarterly basis. Once this process is streamlined there will be a push for monthly P&L reporting for each location, so this will be an excellent opportunity to be very hands-on with process development and to have a lot of interaction with the Controller and CFO. There will not be overly complicated Excel work, but we are looking for someone who is quick and efficient with Excel as time will be of the essence for these reporting initiatives. Most of the revenue recognition is automated so the majority of the work will revolve around expenses and the various breakdowns for expenses like COGS, SG&A/Overhead, Fixed Costs, Soft Costs, etc.
There will also be an analytical piece to this position as you will be comparing reports to other locations and other business units and to various time periods like month over month, quarter to quarter, year over year, etc. This client is on a cash basis accounting system currently and would like to move to an accrual basis in 2025. This role will be more focused on reporting, variance analysis, and presentations and will not be a typical staff accountant role where you have a checklist of 20 to 30 items that need to get done each month. There will also be opportunity to make suggestions regarding improving processes and increasing efficiency levels for multiple areas within daily and monthly accounting and finance systems.
This person will work closely with the Controller and will be involved with supporting external accountants by preparing requested schedules for audits and providing tax documentation for returns. Will also assist with the annual budget development process and ensure that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly with proper documentation. We need a strong GL accountant who can really dig in for the month-end closing and reporting process while also helping with daily cash collection, cash reconciliations, and monthly reporting on production, cash collection, and KPIs.Someone with a strong financial accounting background and hands-on experience with general ledger functions and reporting will do well in this role and there will be opportunity for advancement as the company continues the top line growth.
