The Finance Manager reporting to the Operations Controller will play an important role in aiding the development of an optimized manufacturing strategy including evaluation of facility investments. This position will help drive financial and operational performance through financial analysis and financial modeling of scenarios needed to mitigate operational challenges. As part of the extended operations leadership team the Finance Manager will work cross functionally with members of the Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to deliver on the operational commitments in the annual budget.

Responsible for business metrics optimization, financial impact of strategic decisions, identifying opportunities to streamline overall business operations. Conducts special financial and business studies and other duties as assigned by management. Produces financial pro forma analyses for management to support decision making.

Setting Strategy
  • Partner with the Operations Controller to establish standard reporting and KPIs, such as plant reporting packages, productivity tracking, waste reporting.
  • Challenges existing processes, systems, reports, data analysis and outputs and with the support of the Operations Controller implementing necessary changes to create a best-in-class manufacturing.
  • Partners closely with the supply chain team and Operations Controller to support key productivity initiatives, including validation of savings and correlating key metrics (Downtime, Waste, OEE) to financial performance.
  • Partner with Operations Controller to deliver annual planning assumptions and review of standards in support of planning.
  • Leverage reporting and analyses to shape future investments to improve plant performance.

Executing for Results
  • Partner with IT, Operations, and Operations Controller to develop leading indicators for predicting performance of labor utilization and achieving financial goals.
  • Support financial oversight and evaluation of manufacturing strategy initiatives.
  • Evaluate financial impact of capital investments and provide recommendations to leadership.
  • Participate as a key member of the Operations leadership team.
  • Conduct financial analyses to interpret trends, key drivers, and variances from standards; provide counsel on performance improvement opportunities and actions.
  • Review, challenge, and enhance processes in support of operational performance management and continuous improvement.
  • Interaction with rest of the Management Team providing timely and accurate financial analysis of risks and opportunities.
  • Review budget to actual spend and explain key drivers.
  • Supports the annual evaluation of key financial controls.

Relationships and Influence
  • Communicate across all levels and across departments to influence strategic direction and investment priorities.
  • Synthesize information into key points and strategies to support recommendations.
  • Partners with broader organization to drive standardizations and continuous improvements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
     
QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate is an agile learner that is data driven who can partner across the organization, foster innovation, and deliver results.

 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting, MBA a plus
  • 7 years of increasing responsibility with experience in financial analyses, with specific experience in product manufacturing preferred.
  • Capital investment analysis utilizing NPV and IRR
  • Knowledge of Workday Adaptive Planning and Microsoft Dynamics 365 are a plus
  • Ability to effectively partner and influence cross-functional teams
  • Ability to drive alignment through Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical/problem-solving skills, strategic thinking and a command of the details
