Sr. Medical Device Product Owner POST NUMBER: 432785
We currently have a remote contract opportunity available for a Sr. Product Owner with experience in medical devices. This would be a 3–4-month contract with our client. The client and team sit in EST so preference would be EST first and CST second.
This individual would be responsible for leading the vision, roadmap, and development of a medical device product, working closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, and quality assurance to ensure the product meets market needs, complies with regulatory standards, and is successfully launched, while prioritizing user experience and maintaining a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape and patient requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Vision & Strategy:
Define the product vision, roadmap, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the medical device, aligning with overall business goals and market trends
Requirement Gathering:
Collaborate with clinicians, stakeholders, and users to gather detailed requirements, translating them into user stories and prioritizing the product backlog.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure the medical device adheres to all relevant regulatory standards (FDA, ISO, etc.) throughout the development process.
User Experience:
Champion user-centric design principles, incorporating feedback from clinicians and patients to optimize product usability.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering, life sciences, business, or a related field (strongly preferred)
- Proven experience as a product owner in the medical device industry
- Deep understanding of the medical device development lifecycle, including regulatory requirements (ISO 13485, 62304, 31000)
- Strong technical knowledge of medical device technologies and design principles
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Agile methodology expertise
- Ability to prioritize effectively and manage complex projects
- Market analysis and competitive intelligence skills
- Customer-centric approach with a strong understanding of patient needs
