Job Title: Senior Project Manager - Construction
Job Summary
Vaco is working with a Construction company that needs an experienced and motivated Senior Project Manager to oversee and manage construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of proven experience in construction management, exceptional leadership skills, and a strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Management
- Oversee all phases of construction projects, including pre-construction, construction, and post-construction.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and resources.
Team Leadership and Coordination
- Lead project teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Foster a collaborative work environment and resolve conflicts effectively.
Budget and Cost Management
- Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring costs remain within established limits.
- Approve expenditures, analyze financial reports, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with procurement teams for vendor selection and contract negotiation.
Risk and Quality Management
- Identify and mitigate potential risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and quality standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and address issues proactively.
Client and Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates on project status, challenges, and solutions.
- Address client feedback and implement necessary changes.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in construction project management or a related role.
- Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar is preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project).
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety protocols.
Work Environment
- Office-based with regular visits to construction sites.
- May require occasional evening or weekend work based on project timelines.
