Description:
Merchandise Analytics / Business specialists are responsible for leading projects and conducting advanced analytics in order to provide actionable insights to Senior Leadership to support strategic decisions within Merchandising. They should be able to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity and accuracy, leveraging their expertise to design and execute robust validation strategies. They must possess a high level of analytical ability to distinguish multiple components of a problem, an innate curiosity to ask and answer the next logical question, and the ability to develop conclusions using quantitative, qualitative, exploratory, and predictive data analysis skills.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Own and support delivery of analytics solutions - Build model logic and ensure accuracy of output - Inspect and analyze data to inform design - Build data queries to support model build or maintenance.
- Develop and implement comprehensive data validation processes and protocols by using SQL, R, Python, Excel.
- Design and execute test scenarios to validate data transformation, migration, and integration processes.
- Collaborate with software engineers, data architects, and stakeholders to define data requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Build and execute regular reporting (e.g., validation findings, issues, and recommended solutions, etc.)
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- 5 years of experience in an analytics manager/business analyst/data analyst/statistical analyst role and conducting analysis and data mining using SQL, R, Python, Excel.
- 4 years of experience extracting and processing data using BigQuery, SQL Server or comparable database systems.
- Prior direct experience in analyzing the relevant subject matter (e.g. Merchandising, Supply Chain, Operations, etc.)
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail; self-starter.
